Well, it’s the home stretch, only about 1 month left to go!
We’re all done with the nursery, save for a few cleaning duties and repairing Great-great Grandpa Wilson’s rocking chair. We have almost everything we need and the boy is styling with his extensive wardrobe!
Right now Warren is still breech and on my next visit (9/3/08) we’ll find out what we do next. The doctor mentioned an ECV (external cephalic version) where they try and flip the baby manually. He wanted to schedule it for September 9th. They admit you to L&D (just to be safe) and do the procedure guided by ultrasound. There is some limited risk, nothing serious, but a 5% chance they will need to do an emergency c-section if the baby’s heart rate drops. It can be quite painful for me and has only about a 60% success rate. We’re still weighting our options, since my doctor will only deliver a breech baby via c-section.
He is about 5 1/2 pounds right now, and is on schedule to be about 7 1/2 by the time he's born. How they can tell that I have no clue! I've had a pretty great pregnancy. No swelling, no blood pressure issues, no diabetes, no bad pains...and the best part I've only gained 23 pounds! (I can't believe I used the word ONLY!)
I have a goal to get back in to my Seven for All Mankind jeans (size 6) by New Year's Day. We'll see! I figure I'll put it in writing out there is cyberspace to help hold me accountable!
Here is a picture of me last week (34 weeks & 4 days)
